Goldfrapp Seventh Tree Mute U.S. February 26, 2008
[Time stops still when you've lost love] Place a white sheet of paper in front of you. Draw a line, starting on the center of the square you previously drawn over the picture of your house before it burned down and follow every nuisance, filling all holes and gaps in your memory with pencil notes; keep the beat as you draw. Soon, you'll have a somewhat complete vision of your inner world; yet it will be unfinished, forever incomplete. Goldfrapp's Seventh Tree is just another dimension of what you need to grasp reality and understand the world of color. Listening to Allison's voice as it slowly soars over your head, feeling how the loops synchronize with your own rhythms, will, maybe, show you a little more of yourself, help you finish your drawing. A little yellow on the lower–right corner might look nice, reflecting some of your anger. New music which sounds just like the past but alive right now (disco violins and swingin' pianos too) will teach you something as well. And that is almost all you can write about such an amazing work. [You know it/You owe it to yourself/You won't let it make you mad/It's already crazy] -postbop
