Sometimes I think about how lucky some average mc’s are. Pete Rock & CL Smooth were the most famous duo formed by a great (now legendary) producer and a decent but not that good mc. Those who claim rap is all about rhymes don’t know a shit. Rap is usually all about a certain beat and if it is dope, sometimes the mc only needs to be slightly skilled. This is the case of Fat Ray & Black Milk. While you can survive without having heard a verse from Fat Ray in your whole life, Black Milk is definitely one of the best modern rap producers.
