Autechre / Quaristice [2008]
Warp Records
March 4, 2008

When listening to Autechre’s new album the only word that seems to come to my mind is disconnection. The bounds that link a beat with the next are fatally broken, the rhythmic constructions that invade the record are blurred from within and the heterogeneous ambience of synths and noises seem to articulate words in a language impossible to decipher. Close your eyes and get rid of the world around you for a while, tracing the very essence of this music and its disconnection from any kind of reference or meaning to daily life. Quaristice is all about sounds, pure sounds moving, transforming themselves, shaping imaginary landscapes in the black canvas of your closed eyed. Going nowhere, leaving a brightful and colorful path behind. - Mono
