The Drift Memory Drawings Temporary Residence April 8, 2008
The muted trumpet improvising over the solid post-rock landscapes made me think of a long orange brush over a blue, uniform canvas. Or maybe, a straight line left by a wandering aeroplane in the sky. It made me think of blurred memories, visions of forests and abandoned cities, the rage of a rock and roll night and the smoke of a cigarette under the dimmed lights of a jazz club. It made me think of possibilities, of paths leading to new places, of unexpected combinations that suddenly give birth to music you never imagined and nevertheless needed more than anything. (Gigantic spaces, a deep, black night.) Boy, I love the sound of that trumpet moving over the dreamy chords of the guitar. I really do. - Mono
