Once again this man achieves his goal: to compose songs filled with loneliness and melancholic feelings that will make you suffer a heartache. Sun Kil Moon’s third album still has that warm vibe we are used to and for people that have been listening to Kozelek’s music since he began with the Red House Painters this won't be a disappointing release. I don’t know exactly where his magic resides; maybe in the way he tunes his guitar or in his soft and particular voice or perhaps in the slowest and repetitive melodies that make you fall into a deep and sweet sleep. In this world -where everything has to be light, fast and simple – it’s difficult to listen an eight minute song just because "we don’t have the time”; we just love those mainstream friendly artists with music easy to digest, but Kozelek breaks all those rules and always finds a way to express his memories and feelings with a perfect cross between beautiful poetic lyrics and a slowcore guitar style. Even though I prefer his old work with the Red House Painters, this CD will make you smile. - Hi6uera
