King Midas Danger Mouse and rapper Cee-Lo made a huge appearance on mainstream with the world famous single “Crazy” about two years ago. Now they are back to prove us his project was solid and based on a long-run career. It’s because I do think Danger Mouse is one of the best producers nowadays that I’ve got the impression this album could have been better. It’s good, quite good, but not ‘perfect’. Some beats are really imaginative but some others are a little bit boring and Cee-Lo is not always able to show his skills on singing. I hate criticizing albums for not being perfect. Let’s face some other facts. There are some crazy songs like “Going On” and “Surprise” which would make the shiest guy dance (or at least nod his head intensively) even if he was sober. Drums are my favorite part of the production and I still can’t understand how this rapper can sing and sound so classic and experimental (synonym of weird here) at the same time. If you like their first album, you’ll enjoy this one. - Grey
