Our Sleepless Forest Our Sleepless Forest Darla February 26, 2008
“Music alone has the power to evoke as it will the improbable places, the unquestionable and chimerical world which works secretly on the mysterious poetry of the night, on those thousand anonymous sounds made when leaves are caressed by the rays of the moon”. I knew that the words for writing this review were already taken and I came to think that in his wildest dreams, many years before the revolution of electronic music, this was the music that Claude Debussy unconsciously imagined. Here are the anonymous rainy sounds, the resonant ambience of the wind traveling through the forest and the timid sounding guitars that resemble the sparkling light of millions of distant stars. Here is today’s foggy dawn, hidden between the multiple, vibrant layers of processed sounds and the drone-sounding, abstract keyboards. Here is the real immersive experience of sound, the very poetry of the night in its entire splendor. Here’s a timeless, sleepless forest for you to wander around.- Mono Highlights / The Tinderbox
