Drive-By Truckers Brighter Than Creation's Dark New West Records January 22, 2008
Nobody thought they could release another album after the internal fights they had last summer, but it seems they could solve their problems or, at least, they learnt how to stand each other for the sake of music. The Dirty South alt-country band has recorded a bunch of good tracks for this new project, while it may be a little bit longer than what would be strictly necessary. There are too many ups and downs and it lacks consistency. Anyway, they are still good musicians and they know how to bring you to the heart of the deepest America. I haven’t seen them live but I bet they are great on the stage. Skip some tracks if you don’t like them and enjoy the ones that sound better to you. - GreyHighlights / 3 Dimes DownLabels: 2008
