I’ve always thought Sweden would be the perfect country if it weren't that cold. They are just a few people but they have a really interesting music scene concerning lots of different music styles and they are like Mecca for any social democrat like me. Promoe has been always around, always releasing good albums and recording nice music. Now he’s back with his band, Looptroop Rockers, for another album. The album starts pretty good with three songs reflecting Looptroop’s classic style: rhymes over fresh hip hop beats with some Jamaican influence (always in a precise measure) that go from reflections about life and social consciousness to friends and family. However, not every single song is as consistent as “The Building,” and there are some which I’m sure were recorded with an intention to innovate but actually sound awful (like “Al Mazika”). At least you should check “The Building” video recorded in the streets of Stockholm. Get a copy of the album here. - Grey
