Matmos Supreme Balloon Matador Records May 6, 2008
Like every band deserving respect, Matmos knew how to put out an amazing album by leaving behind for a while the materials that, traditionally, constructed their music. Disregarding this time the sound of cow uteruses, amplified semen or liposuction surgeries, just to name a few!, they’ve managed to alter for a while the concrete approach to electronics (and all of its conceptual and textural implications) in favor of an amazing voyage into the synthesis and the very creation of sound: You’ll hear a colorful, weird ballet of keyboards and synthesizers from every relevant era without the aid of microphones or sounds from daily life. Now that they have used and abused from every form of acoustic event produced by the world outside them with the capacity of exciting their imaginations, it is logical that their sonorous explorations would eventually lead them in another direction: What about a complete “artificial”-sounding album? What about creating the noises, notes and sounds of the music out of nowhere? Well, it turned into another great release, another seductive stop in their never-ending journey of music and weirdness. - Mono

Thanks for this one. I was desperately looking for something new, but everything -for me- was a shame. This isn't going to get my faith back, but at least is like a little bit of fresh air.
