Tokyo Police Club Elephant Shell Saddle Creek April 22, 2008
I can't deal with the "clap clap" effect and this CD is full of it, but Dave Monks' vocals are a positive factor. I can't find anything particular or magical in this release; I've listened to it like five times, and trust me, that's enough Elephant Shell for me. These days I just need to find the perfect tunes that can turn down my anger and anxiety, and this CD didn't do the job. Yes, maybe the problem is inside me. It's a boring Monday morning; you wake up searching for something fresh in the refrigerator, but the only thing you find is a half-full glass of lemonade. You pick it up, walk to the balcony, look at the sky, and think: "Dammit! It's gonna rain, it's time to hurry up..." At that moment this LP starts to sound like a soundtrack of your unhappy Monday, but at least it's not impossible to say you can enjoy it. - Hi6ueraHighlights / In A CaveLabels: 2008
