The album’s glittering opening track "The Arm", introduces the band as quirky and clever, much like their Canadian musical friends Arcade Fire, with its strange and intriguing lyrics -"That’s why the arm came for you"- and intricate string arrangements. "Pieces of You", the next track on the album, combines a super cute/fun beat with again, pretty weird lyrics. The string arrangements stand out in particular – this sounds like a band who know what they’re doing, pretty much. There is a mix of interesting song titles and melodies on this album – particularly with the track "J’aime Vous Voir Quitter", a catchy and cute song with a seriously cool Mexican vibe towards the end of the track... And I mean, I’ve always been a fan of French song titles. The guitar hooks are catchy and pretty nice, and the overall layering of sounds makes for an intriguing listen.
